We have now added a range of content to our Envisage Media App to help promote the Help Us Help You campaign to patients in the waiting room.
NHS England and Public Health England developed the campaign to help the public understand how they can stay well this winter and access appropriate services if they need them.
In recent years there has been an increased emphasis on people taking responsibility for staying healthy and managing their own health. The winter months can be very challenging time for the NHS, especially for urgent care services.
The Help Us Help You campaign helps vulnerable patients understand the importance of looking after themselves and makes everyone aware that they should choose the appropriate NHS service for their needs.
The campaign includes a range of key messages and will be delivered across a range of platforms. This includes content to highlight:
- The importance of eligible people getting vaccinated against the flu
- Advice on contacting NHS 111 for urgent queries, instead of going straight to A&E
- The importance of seeking advice at the first signs of a winter illness
- The availability of evening and weekend GP appointments
- The advantages of consulting with a community pharmacist for minor health concerns
Following this advice ensures that patients can help the NHS help them stay well, prevent an illness getting worse and take the best course of action. This all means that they get well again sooner.
