A patient’s local pharmacy is the place to go for them to get any prescription medicines and clinical advice they need for minor health concerns. However, patients are often unaware of the additional services they provide.
As well as helping with common illnesses, such as sore throats, coughs and colds and other aches and pains, pharmacy teams can help with stop smoking advice, help on cutting down on alcohol and advice on safe sex and emergency contraception.
Many pharmacies are open outside normal working hours, such as in the evenings and at weekends, and most have consultation rooms for private conversations. They can also talk to patients confidentially without anything being added to their medical records
Your NHS Pharmacy video
To help make patients more aware of these services we have added a new Your NHS Pharmacy video from NHS Choices to our Envisage Media library.
This video highlights to patients how they can get help for both themselves and their children from their local pharmacy and the different services available. The video is available with audio and subtitles for patients who are hard of hearing.
If you already have Envisage and would like help adding the Your NHS Pharmacy video to your system then please visit our dedicated support section.
