Barns Medical Practice, is a 6-partner, training practice situated within purpose built premises in the centre of Ayr serving the needs of over 8800 patients. Having moved into the new building the practice were unhappy with the patient call system that had been installed.

We had previously purchased equipment through Numed Healthcare and knew they were a company with a good reputation for quality and after sales service, and so invited them along to give a demonstration.

As well as offering a complete patient call system which would integrate with Vision, our clinical system, we were impressed with Envisage, a system which would allow us to display not only local and national health promotion material, but Practice specific information too. We liked the idea that this was completely configurable by us, that we could target specific audiences e.g. breast feeding information shows during immunisation and ante-natal clinics, and we could run educational material in line with current local, regional and national campaigns.

From placing our order to installation, the service received has been terrific. Envisage is housed within reception, is completely unnoticeable and does not slow down the clinical system. The training we received was very good and the after sales service has been magnificent.

Having used the system for a while we haven’t been disappointed. The flow of patients is much more efficient than before, the receptionists time has been freed up to do other duties, and the atmosphere within the waiting room is much calmer than before. The patient’s attention is automatically drawn away from the Reception Desk to the screen, and the patients enjoy viewing the up to date practice information and health promotion material.
